Gender Arms Race

The Code of Arms for males is a combination of acquired but revered patterns enforced by an unspoken pecking order to which they mostly adhere and definitely hand down. But as most mothers know, boys just don’t know when to stop. They have no brakes when it comes to intelligent behavior—often lasting into senility. For the sake of survival, intervention is sometimes necessary, regardless of their resistance to reason. Thankfully, most boys outgrow the limbic brain waves that get them in or out of trouble, and most of those who survive the inherent addictive risks eventually resort to using the evolved brain instead. There has to be a pay-off, however, or such a change would not be considered and implemented.

On the other hand, there is no Code of Arms for women except that we inherited the feminine balm that ends in our palms. Our arms are primarily used to enfold and nurture humanity. But off-setting the joy usually associated with this evolutionary privilege is the near-hysteria of a life-long, roller-coaster ride aboard the daily hormonal train. Since males don’t experience the same trip during their short-lived “flat-lining” testosterone levels, women are not considered “normal” if the truth by males be told. However square and round are we two genders, and like it or not we’re forever linked in different, yet complimentary (if they allow and we so choose) realities.

Unfortunately for women and children, there’s not much “round” about the square-ish male gender except their endless rounds of wars supplied by their arms. Therefore, I’ve identified a list of what could be their secret, simple, strategic action codes as to who, what, where, when and why wars are started (other than the fact that they have little else to do). The Circle of C’s should be written on every male institution and system, but you’ll probably never see it. We’re shown instead the symbols of his honor, patriotism, martyrdom, heroic efforts, zeal for the cause du jour, and killing in the name of Love Itself. The corresponding Circle of C’s for women is an effect of his reality, and with which women of the globe must cope as a result of his actions:

The Circle of C’s
Male Circle Female Circle
Covet Concede
Conquer Co-exist
Control Civilize
Convert Catalyze
Collect Care-take
Cavort Conceive
Crash Curate
Covet Concede

Women are perpetually imprisoned in this man-made Arthurian armor that dictates our and our children’s choices. In fact, do we not spend most of our time making concessions to it? Is it any wonder we are feeling so frustrated, tired, and angry? Added to the endless physical burdens of “women’s work,” we expend an enormous amount of energy just “holding back” the anger we accumulate while trying to cope with and act “normal” in the male world. Aren’t we tired of “fixing” ourselves in an attempt to match their illusions of us? Here are some of the concessions women make every day of their lives, the world over:

First, we’re born into a world as “less than,” and therefore at the mercy of, the duly appointed Alpha Gender.

Second, we’re taught and expected to teach in their language even though it barely includes us.

Third, we’re evolutionary slaves to childbearing and its long-term aftermath. Of course all “normal behavior” is defined by the male reality and controlled by their physical, intellectual, financial, or religious dominance.

Fourth, we’re paired with and at the effect of a gender that is biologically driven to challenge, conquer, and win at any and all costs, including the murder of their children we birth.

Fifth, the world is designed (literally) by men for men, and we must adapt to their accouterments, codes, creations, and outdated systematic mentality modes.

Sixth, we’re treated as if being a woman is catching, although we’ve proven quite the opposite is true by morphing our selves and teaching our children to morph to fit the moldy male mold.

Seventh, we’re excluded from most of the resources and benefits of earning our keep, therefore caught in the endless cycle of man-made lack.

Eighth, women have to hold the male reality and interact within it, while men are automatically excused and protected by their peers and institutions from unwanted responsibilities.

We give birth to the little mongrels, tame them, and then they’re snatched away at about age six, never to be seen by the world as little boys again. Their loyalty shifts. They’ll do anything to belong to the brotherhood, including discounting all feminine perspective. Their very survival depends on this choice of course, so we can’t string them up by their testes just yet. But perhaps men and boys are beginning to sense that the end is near—not the end of the world or their lives, but the end of the games they create and expect us to play—games which cost millions of lives and trillions of dollars, destroy our earthly home, and leave sickly scabs of festering hatred behind.

Then there’re the spoils of war which usually end up in some Good Old Boys’ coffers while our children lay in the coffins for which we also have to pay. When is this insanity going to stop? When will women intervene to stop the male legacy of pain—on our children’s behalf if not our own? Not until we, the mothers and birth-givers of the world, say collectively, “No more!”

We’ve bought again and again and again the male perspective of how great it is to be a hero at the expense of someone else’s life. We’ve been dominated for so many eons however, that we keep our mouths shut (or are otherwise muffled) to these human indecencies. If I remember correctly from my religious teachings “Love one another” and “Love your enemy” were the new rules in how to live peacefully. Almost all major religions preach, promote, and prosper from some form of these “so simple anyone can understand them” guidelines for peace.

I can not understand how a father and mother who profess devotion to holy teachings can send a child of theirs to learn and do the things one must do in military uniform. “Brainwashed” seems too nice a word for having turned our backs on what we know does not work in our global cultures and is contrary to the teachings crammed down our throats so that we’ll be good.

Are we willing to accept that the sole purpose in life for women is to be good according to the male definition? Or is our greater calling to be authentically outraged, challenging every decision that affects us by our standards of reasonability and sanity? The vice grip imposed by the habitual military and robotical finance moguls may seem too frightening, too far-reaching, or too intense to confront, but who are we going to serve—our rightful minds or someone else’s version thereof? And at the expense of our own flesh and blood! We are the traitors to the future if we swallow the phlegm of the stogie suckers and sacrifice the freedom—nay, the very life—of your child and mine.

One thing we have learned during our centuries of concessions is that war is only deemed good by the so-called victor (who ultimately becomes the new victim of previous actions). Secondly, the good only lasts until the next nightmare. I know, and I suspect you know, there’s another, better way to settle conflicts—as do the warmongers who profit from their perpetual propaganda for fighting and fear. I truly feel sorriest for the soldiers of all eras who bought into the ploys and plots of selfish men who most likely smirked at the stupidity of the willing puppets whom they dangled from their masts of trumped-up glory.
