Women’s rights are
human rights?

Stephen Henry Lewis,
United Nations’ envoy for HIV AIDS in Africa, 2006, said:

“[Women's rights have] never been made real, and so long as men control the levers and bastions of power… it never will be real. The demeaning diminution of women is everywhere evident… where freedom from sexual violence, the right to sexual autonomy, to sexual and reproductive health, social and economic independence, and even the whiff of gender equality are barely approximated. It’s a ghastly, deadly business, this untrammeled oppression of women in so many countries on the planet.”

The masculine bond of testosterone is and has always been the grand cover up for crimes against the rest of humanity: women and children.~ LS

In the Philippines, where a former president, Fidel Ramos, has called population growth a “ticking time bomb,” another bill has been introduced in Congress—after almost a dozen failures—to establish a national family planning program over the objections of the powerful Roman Catholic Church, which threatens to excommunicate legislators who vote for it. 1 “Dependent entirely on donations, the United Nations Population Fund…struggles but can never keep up with huge demands for life-saving contraceptives, including condoms. The Administration of President George W. Bush cut off all US funding to the agency, accusing it of aiding abortion…A McCain-Palin White House would make the situation much worse.” Refer Barbara Crossette)

Rent a Slave

Slavery supposedly came to an end in the 20th Century, but it’s alive and well in almost every country on Earth. We live in a really, really, sick society (worldwide) if we continue to allow pre-approved criminals to steal people and force them to work in the sex industry or as illegal laborers.

Young victim

More than 12 million people—mostly women and children—are forced into sexual trafficking or labor (bondage) each year. Unfortunately, these victims get shrouded in the political fog emanating from other world attention-getters such as elections and financial meltdowns.

The real sickness of not caring has left these victims and survivors in a man-made hell on Earth. How can conscious people with a conscience pretend not to see? How can developed countries allow celebrated leaders to get away with being accomplices to the gilded gluttons of wanton slavery?

Sexual Score Boarding

While Vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin is against abortion even in the cases of rape and incest, more than 200,000 children in the U.S. alone are subjected to the criminal forces profiteering from illegal sex and bondage (which often includes forced sex). Many of these children die before reaching maturity.

Boy child behind bars

I would guess that 98% of illegal sex market customers are men, or boys wanting to become men. They can’t possibly be all single males. So why aren’t we wives, mothers, sisters, and grandmothers screaming at the top of our lungs against these atrocities committed upon our daughters (and increasingly, our male children)?

If I were a gambler, I would bet my livelihood that a confidential survey taken of the pimps and perps away from the trafficking crime scenes would reveal more than 75% of them professing allegiance to one of the three major religions—Protestantism, Islamism, Judaism. But that result would not necessarily be celebratory.

I don’t know about the Koran or the Torah, but I do know the protestant bible is full of traditions and customs that allowed men and boys to disregard the human rights of women and girls. Raping, incesting, and prostituting females of the family, tribe, or community were frequent occurrences and often considered courtesies to visiting males.

Since that time long ago, how many hundreds of thousands of sexual infractions have happened behind modern gilded pulpits and never been noticed, exposed, or prosecuted? Perhaps religions don’t campaign against these acts of barbarity because their popes, priests, pastors, rabbis, duped converts, and their ‘good books’ have sanctioned them as approved by God.

Lions mating

What specific laws have been made to stop these pathological abuses? What percentage of perpetrators have been arrested, tried, and convicted? How many have been sentenced to life imprisonment for mutilating the bodies, minds, and lives of their powerless victims? Why are the criminals not hunted down like the animals they are and given the punishment they deserve?

World-wide Testosterone Club

The media would have us believe that drug lords are relentlessly pursued. Perhaps this is so, but because of the vast amount of profits involved, the cartels can buy their way to impunity, even if apprehended.

The sex and bondage lords can also afford the same protection—nay, even greater, because the profits derived from their product’s ‘shelf life’ is much greater than illegal chemicals purchased for short-term consumption. Not only is the pimp paid by the John, but money is also extorted from the victim as payment for their eventual freedom.

Can women belong to the testosterone club? Yes—they’re generally called ‘men with tits.’ How do they gain membership? By betraying their sisters, the environment, or cultures for personal gain; by ascribing to the Good Old Boy (GOB) systems, edicts, and regulations without questioning their validity, sanity, or workability; and by adopting the masculine codes of exclusivity, superiority, and religiosity to the detriment of all others.

Pitiful Pompous Purists

It appears that the lives of trafficked victims are of no intrinsic value except for the profits generated in exchange for the enslavement of their bodies. Thanks to the Administration of President George W. Bush, 1 women and children have very little protection—not even condoms to prevent pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). Rather, the pimps get paid greater sums of money by Johns who want au naturale sleaze.

Woman in fetal position

If pregnancy occurs, the victim is forced to submit to abortion, or must pay the pimp for the time they are unable to work. The risk of deadly STDs is extreme, and increases with each illicit act. But I’m not hearing indignant religious outcries against this ill-defined type of murder.

When self-righteous Christians, Muslims, and Jews descend from their pompous pulpits, perhaps they can actually do something to stop 21st Century slavery.

Put your pious prayers on pause and focus your purity campaigns on men—the men who kidnap the victims, transport them in cages, turn a blind eye to fake documents, rent facilities for detainment or entertainment, and promote the sale and re-sale of human flesh. Rally your religious fervor against the pimps, Johns, and perps. Insist all categories be relentlessly pursued, mercilessly apprehended, and prosecuted to the fullest extent possible.

Don’t forget—I beg for your feedback! Disagreements, comments, questions.

Are Goals Conflicting?

Now that a dozen or so developed countries have consumed most of Earth’s resources, they’ve decided to save what’s left of the planet for future generations. But it may be too late. Poverty is proof that global population is spiraling out of control, and women and children are its primary victims.

Few leaders will face the reality of a need for population regulation because they step on so many toes as they cross the line into religious realms at worst and personal lifestyles at best. When the United Nations (UN) met at the beginning of the 21st century to discuss the future and what to do about it, they barely alluded to population troubles.

However, the U.N. is behind the eight ball if they are to lead member nations in achieving the eight aspirations set forth at that conference by the year 2015. They called the plan The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), and surprisingly, they appear to be contradictory:

1. Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger (fewer deaths, more people?)
Boy waiting for treatment
2. Achieve universal primary education
3. Promote gender equality and empower women (fewer births, less people?)
4. Reduce child mortality (fewer deaths, more people?)
5. Improve maternal health (fewer deaths, more people?)
6. Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria, and other diseases (fewer deaths, more people)
7. Ensure environmental sustainability (requires fewer people consuming resources?)
8. Develop a global partnership for development

Combating HIV/AIDS is of utmost importance—especially now that the disease is becoming a women’s disease in sub-Saharan Africa and other regions. Without the combined efforts of governments and organizations to launch world-wide protests against illegal trafficking of people for sex and bondage, it stands to reason that the global pandemic will never be curtailed. Until it is, the handwriting on the wall warns that eventually the disease will find its way home.

To accelerate progress towards the MDGs, the G-7 Finance Ministers 2 met in London in June 2005 (in preparation for the G-8 3 Gleneagles Summit in July) and reached an agreement to provide enough funds to the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the African Development Bank (ADB) to cancel an additional $40-55 billion in debt 4 owed by Heavily Indebted Poor Countries (HIPC) nations. This would allow impoverished countries to re-channel the resources saved from the forgiven debt to social programs for improving health and education and for alleviating poverty. Refer Wikipedia, Millennium Development Goals.

Poverty Row sign

In stark contrast, the Bush Administration practically begged U.S. taxpayers to ‘forgive’ Wall Street gamblers their $700 billion bust in financial market error thinking. Meanwhile, the faux bonhommes ignore the fact that one-third of the world’s population “live on sums so small that hours of whatever work can be found after a scant breakfast will determine whether there will be another meal of any kind that day.” (Refer Barbara Crossette.)

Captive woman behind bars

So it appears our sick society has two choices if we want to ‘get well’: 1) offer reproductive rights and means to women for reducing the number of births each year; or 2) continue to allow the GOBs to plant their human seed whenever, wherever, and in whomever they wish. If we choose 1), there’s a chance that environmental sustainability will be ensured. On the other hand, if we choose 2), there’s no way Millennium Development Goals 1 thru 7 will ever be attained.

Demand action now and without end until every slave is set free. Piratical profiteering is wrong, no matter how many cents are donated or how much incense is used as a smoke screen to protect the greedy, guilty, and godless GOBs.
